I beseech you...

  3

join me in my latest obsession as I break away from reality T.V. (and I put Top Chef on the shelf for a minute) to delve into the most intense and visually beautiful series..yes an actual show and not reality! (which runs on Showtime), "The Tudors" . Maybe I’m smitten with Jonathan Rhys Meyers who plays King Henry VIII, or the lavish costumes? or the gorgeous set, castles, lush gardens, haunting music? Not sure, but I’m entranced! I had to order Showtime as an extra with our cable programs just to be able to watch the show. Worth every penny shilling.

Natalie Dormer plays Anne Boleyn and she is absolutely stunning. She resembles Scarlett O’Hara in a way. I hope someone agrees with me?

Anyway, we all know how the story of King Henry and Anne Boleyn ends... but it’s so interesting to see how it all began. The shows opening title claims "Obsession can change the world"...but I’m sure my little obsession is harmless, right?  Please tell me I'm not alone, I beseech you!  At this point, the only way my husband can get my attention is if he puts on the Burger King hat my daughter got 2 weeks ago as part of her happy meal and speaks loudly like the King "I command you to make dinner!" he says, as he stands in the kitchen... ahem...good thing there is no chopping block or my head would have been gone a long time ago.  Can you even believe this happen to a Queen of England?  Definitely mid "evil" times for sure!  Speaking of evil, I had some fun with my sister and this fake news reel from the Tudors website, so wickedly hilarious!  Click HERE here to see the news of my sister, Kelly Ann, who has been found to have inherited land from King Henry where Buckingham Palace now sits, worth millions of dollars! (You can join me in my Tudors obsession and have fun with your own friends and family and email them their own personalized one too...at the end of the reel it gives instructions for sending out).  Trust me Miladies, it's TOO DOR funny!  ~xo

At Your Fingertips...

I was so honored to be featured in the newest issue of Artful Blogging!  Available here.  To be listed along side of creative and inspiring women is always an honor.  I'm not sure if my blog falls into the "artful" category?  I do like to take photos and blab on about nothing, and sometimes something.  I was asked recently to explain what I write about for magazines and also what I write about on my blog.  My answer was, "I write about other women who blog and inspire us with their creative blogs, then I blog about the article when it comes out on my own blog"... (how many times can you put the word 'blog' into one sentence? seriously!)  Still loving that word "Crogs"  Hail to all you croggers out there!  I don't know how you do it...from making beautiful creations and then having the time to photo them, write about them and post them on your blogs.  I am in awe daily of your talents, gracious sharing, inspirational posts and your creative spirit that awakens our own creative soul...and it's all right at our fingertips!  I bow before you. (just picture me doing a curtsey!) and please, by all means, keep on crogging!~xo

Mother's Day Tea in Room 1H...

Mothers_day_tea_003_copy

The mommies of first graders were invited to a Mother's Day Tea on Friday.  This is the 6th annual tea party and I remembered this special event when I went 5 years ago when my son was 6...this time I was smart and brought tissues!  For the mom's who didn't know what to expect, they were in for a real treat.  It started out as we entered the classroom, we were greeted by our child and escorted to our perfectly set seat.  There was a handmade placemat topped with a beautiful card.  Then each child went in front of the class and read into a microphone (no pressure!) what was special about their mommy.  Apparently I'm the best chocolate chip cookie maker in the classroom and my daughter loves when I say "Muffin, it's time for bed"!  Some of the things the children read were funny, like one little boy said "My mom makes the best grilled cheese, but sometimes she burns the edges" some were sweet like "My mom has the prettiest eyes and sparkliest jewelry ever!"

We were then served delicious treats and iced tea by our fabulous little hostesses and then serenaded by a song "You are my sunshine".
