BlackBerry Phobia...

Blackberry_1

It arrived yesterday.  Very black, but not like a berry at all.  It's very intimidating.  I imagine it will come in handy though.  Would have been very useful in Venice instead of searching for an internet cafe to check emails.  It would have been especially convenient at the airport when we saw the terror alert level raised to "High", then a bomb sniffing dog topped off with an air marshall on our plane.  I would have been able to email friends and family and send a "just in case" message.  I'm sure it's easy to use and is waiting for me to at least turn it on so it can show itself off to me...but where is the darn power button?

So funny, I have one too and do you think I could find the ON button at first? I absolutely love it for emails on the fly but there is so much more that I could do with it. I really should crack out the manual and learn.... :)

Joy

Good Luck with it Tara. Fufu calls her husbands the "crackberry" because it sooo addictive!

xoxo

Good luck with your new toy!! :)

I literally just changed over to one myself this past week. It took almost a week to get it set up properly but once you get over that hurdle - it is the best thing! You will love it - I also found it very easy to figure out. Just get in there and start pressing buttons LOL!
Karla

omg...dog sniffing and air Marshal? lol..glad u made him safely!

However alluring the "crackberry" e-mail and internet features may be, your new device comes with something far more dangerous and addictive: welcome to the world of brick breaker!

I'm sure you'll have it figured out in NO time tara! You are a "techy" person(is techy a word???)YOu can figure anything out-Can you imagine me with one?? I'm the only one at the gym walking around with a cd player because I have trouble with the ipod!!LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!! This will make your life easier for sure!:) xoxox p.s. better an air marshall on the plane than a "TERRORIST!" do you remember my brothers experience on a flight when they took a suspected terrorist off in handcuffs!!!!!! aghhhh! no wonder I take "flying pills"LOL!xoxoxo

P.S. Nice pillow the blackberry is resting on. Someone that has really nice taste must have given that to you!!LOL!:) xo

I know, I know. I have a Blackberry Pearl and I felt the same way. . . I'm still figuring it out four months later. It's supposed to be better than my old phone though. sigh . . .

Yes, "crackberry" is a term we use often here in our home. I have a Palm Treo (my husbands hand-me-down) and my husband has the IPhone. You will come to LOVE your blackberry!

Hi Tara....I am so glad to see that I am not the only one who searches for the "on" button! Don't even ask me about using our DVD/VCR/Stero/HD-TV/NASA command center remote control thing-a-ma-bobs my hubby has hooked-up in our living room. Good luck with your search and keep us posted if this becomes your new BF. xo ~ Joy J.

Tara, forget the phone!!! You had a bomb sniffing dog on board?! Oh my!!!!!!!!!! Do tell all.

Good luck Tara! It takes me forever to figure out a new cellphone everytime I get one.

rue :)

tee hee! You are like me! It makes noises and flashes and I just hand it to hubby! I like my old Nokia as I can totally understand it!

Yes....the crackberry can be both a blessing and a curse. Makes it hard to REALLY get away sometimes! ~XO~ Janet

That looks scaaaaaaaaaary! I don't want to get too close, it might jump out and bite me. LOL
Good luck on figuring the lil bugger out. heehee

My husband got upgraded to a Blackberry recently for work and he barely uses it. He's a network engineer so you'd think he wouldn't be one to get intimidated. :oP

I had about the same experience as Chris describes above. About a year after 911 we were on a flight that a guy was taken off of in handcuffs and then we all had to get off so the plane could be searched for a bomb! Soooo not fun! We really didn't want to get back on that same plane. I'm not much of a flyer anymore. ;o)

Oh, it looks so cute! And, yes, it is so helpful. You'll see when you'll get used to it. I can even post blog from mine with photos!
You'll love it, just let yourselves be friends!
lol...

Oh, I'm sure you will have it all figured out in nothing flat! Neat phone...
Oh, and did I miss the results of the Pet Peeve Survey? I want to see what bothers folks so I can adjust my blog....Many thanks....bj

Oh - once you get used to it - you will love it!

Please stop by my blog and read about a creative contest I am holding with a great prize. If you are not interested - please forward it onto as many people as you can. Thank you!

Hi Tara!
I just wanted to stop by and say Hello & Happy Spring!
Stephanie

Hi Tara, it's been a while since I have commented! I'm so sorry I missed your Venice, Sarasota visit, I was there at the same time visiting my parents! I used to sell my art at Mark and Susies before I moved to Jacksonville. Talk to you soon, come visit sometime, Hugs, Kimberly

Don't worry you'll figure it out. Must have been some experience with the plane. Glad you made it home safe and sound.

I've been toying with the idea of a Blackberry or an Iphone but haven't had the courage to take the plunge yet. Hope you get it figured out, I hear they are great.

I live, eat and breath my blackberry. I love it! I am always connected.

You are so funny, i just got one too yesterday and i was thinkiIng the same thing, where is that power button. Love visiting you...

The Farmer has a similar model and he loves it. THere is definitely a learning curve. Congratulations on becoming further high tech!

- Suzanne, the Farmer's Wife

I think you will learn to love it. I have the blackberry pearl, and I just love it!

-Sarah

If you figure it out, you should write a user-friendly instruction book. I can never get anywhere with my PalmPilot manual.

Good luck!!! I have yet to use one of those...they frighten me too...lol!
