Little gems...
I'm getting the itch for some hunting at the open flea markets here, however the weather has not been cooperating. So, instead, I've been going through some little vintage gems I've accumulated and been playing around with them in the studio with the camera, testing the light and lense. I find that in the cold of the Winter, little things make me happy, don't you? Things like homemade chocolate chip cookies, (and having the kids beg to lick the spoon!) ...lazy Sunday's with no agenda...discovering that Legends of The Fall is running on TV....wrapping up in a blanket in front of the fire and watching our daughter perfect her jump roping skills! Just little things like that, you know?

gorgeous little treasures!

Yes, yes, yes
The simple things in life. I like those better than the larger ones. Finding treasures you forgot you had and going to junk shops with you best girlfriend and finding more treasures that you will put away and forget about.
If you haven't visited my blog yet recently there is something that Erma Bombeck wrote before she died that will give you some more inspirations on my blog.
Keep having those moments they will never be repeated again.

When I lived in Detroit I had many flea markets to choose from but here in Arkansas, I don't have much. There use to be a farmers market right by house that woud have fresh flowers, fruit and vegtables and they also had a ton a fablous antiques. Boy those were the days! I am envious.

Nice to see my little music crystal in your bits & pieces:-). Keep your little guys close at heart Tara sweets. That precious time spent observing their cute stuff is so fleeting. ~XO~ Janet

I, too, love the little things. It can be so much fun digging through our old, forgotten treasures, sure to find things that we love and not have a bust at the flea market. Bit I am so ready for spring and enjoying natures gifts!

Yeah, I remember those days when my daughters were kids. Now they're grown. But those items you photographed, those would be great attached to a crazy quilt accessory like a wall hanging, Xmas stocking, tussie mussie, etc. You've got some great stuff!

I completely agree Tara! I have been desperate to go to the flea market but it is still a winter wonderland here in Western NY. I too have been finding pleasure in the simple things...beauty that I have accumulated and forgotten...such a good reminder that what we have is sometimes enough!
I adore your little gems and treasures...stunningly beautiful...

Hi Tara,
Nice to meet you. I have a fairly new blog and found yours through another. I know what you mean about winter. I live in Ohio and all I want to do is cuddle up, however I am so ready for spring and the moving, estate and garage sales to start up. Please stop by sometime.

ohhhh, I love those brooches. The old keys for some reason just make me think of "home."
I love when I have an afternoon of nothing to do, and one of my favorite movies just happens to be on.
Great picture taking btw! Your camera works great.
