Getting There...

Blog_xmas_030_copy_2

I have been a bad blogger lately!  Thank you Chris  for reminding me!  Looking back on my last entry, I think she may be right! Let's see...my foyer looks like a bomb went off with boxes of Christmas decorations.  The boxes have magically moved, doubled and spread out onto the front porch and into the dining and living room.  It looks like we are moving!  The foyer tree is up.  whew.  now it has to be decorated.  We usually have two trees every year, one in our family room and always a big tall foyer tree that we decorate with ornaments brought by our guests and family at Christmas time.  (I have only one rule each Christmas, you must bring an ornament for the foyer tree!)  Some are handmade and some are store bought, but each one means so much to us and I love looking back on them and remembering the friend or family member who hung it the year or two before. I am covered in glitter and sparkling from head to toe!  Here is a quick tour and I'll bring you more shots as we go along.  Happy decorating!~xo

Your very inspiring and love when you post. Your a bit ahead of me today, I'm at the nesting stage, but I'll soon be in the moving mode too. Just waiting for, my MAN power, to lend his helping muscles. The weather is cool and the wood is in the fireplace. We hope for rain again, here in So. Cal.

After going to Silver Bella, I decided to jump into blogland if you'd like to visit: http://artwhisper.typepad.com

Greetings from Marrakech (I am here by way of Traveling Mama)
It sounds so very Christmassy at your place. Sigh. Those are the things I miss about not living in the US>

We have always had our guests bring ornaments each year to our Christmas party so we have accumulated an awful lot of them! Here in New England we are decorating and decking the halls inside and out. Please stop by for a visit to see how my 1895 Victorian House looks at the holiday time....lots of vintage ornaments and treasures collected from all over plus my handmade Advent Garland made in the shape of mittens out of felt! Lots of fun to hold the daily treasures.

Happy Holidays,

carol eldridge

I'm so happy to see the "F" painting in the background!!! I hope it works perfectly in your decor!!!

Love the Seasons Greetings sign. Beautiful pictures. It's beginning to look alot like Christmas.

Tara, what a great idea of having friends and family bring an ornament, I may just have to start that tradition myself! lol
