Deck The Halls (and get some light bulbs)...

Blog_xmas_069_copy

Here is the foyer window (waiting patiently for it's pretty custom curtains).  It takes a long ladder just to put up a candle in the bare window, only to realize the bulb isn't working! ACK!  I quickly shout, "No worries honey I have a drawer full of them"...and then discover that none of them work either!  Ok...on to plan "B"...

and don't forget a drink for my thristy worker...that should smooth things over

Now let's get down to business and unpack these boxes!  Don't you love finding treasures you have long forgotten about?  (well maybe since last Christmas!) Below are some crafties I made when pregnant with little man.  It was during my tole painting primitive ish stage...I still love them and remembering the excitement painting them, 9 months preggers...

I just love the slip-covered chair in the corner of the one room.....sp pretty. Fun to see the Yuengling Beer. I live 20 minutes away from the original Yuengling plant located in Pottsville, PA. They still give tours and have an old gift shop.

The dog ornament cracks me up! And the holiday tour is just beautiful, looking forward to seeing the rest. Happy Decorating! Hugs, H

Love your winter floral arrangement!

I love the tole painting Santas! Your home is beautiful! Thank you for sharing with us. Just curious---since your foyer looks pretty large--how long did it take to paint it? It looks like a big job! :)

Hi Tara,

I just put up my tree last night and you are right about forgetting what you have! Yesterday and over the weekend I bought new Christmas lights - then last night when I finally got the big case open holding my ornaments, imagine my suprise when I found two new lots of lights that I had bought at the January sales!

I love your painted decorations you did while you were pregnant, so sweet!

Oh my goodness. Your house is so beautiful. It seems like a fairyland to me. Lots of inspiration and beauty.

What loveliness! I am especially loving your tall ivory mirror with the garland applique. YUMMY! Happy Holidays to you and yours...hugs, cheryl

I do love finding treasures from years past. I've dabbled in tole-ish crafts as well as many others, but can appreciate all the memories that come to mind.

Now to butter my hubby up, to get out the latter, or I'll try it myself and than I'll get his attention. Ha...

Cheers,
Karla Smith

Cute stuff! Can't wait to see part 2!
