The Color Purple
Looking around my house, my Sixth Sense says "I See Lavender!" I just realized that I use
it in my decorating a lot more than pink....perhaps because my hubby would not like the look of a pink bedroom or kitchen? I guess I choose this color as a way of "fooling" him. But he is no dummy, he knows what I'm up to. However, the color is not as feminine as pink and therefore I can sneak it in, here and there. I'm drawn to lavender and love it mixed with golds and creams, as shown in our bedroom and adjoining sitting room. Below is a little photo tour of the room. If you have a passion for the color purple, in any shade, please visit my dear friend, Chris, at Tuttichic.com

Tara, That is one fabulous sized bedroom! Wow it is so suite like! And I do love the colors! Heck if you can swing the lavender, go for it! My husband never complains of my color choices only my oldest son has. If we do even get around to our adding on I too will have the luxury of such a big bedroom! Enjoy the size and beauty of it! Purple is my favorite, and I love the way you've used it. I have a friend who sold her husband on pink and white striped wallpaper for their kitchen by calling it "salmon." We do what we must!

Such a beautiful bedroom & sitting room! SO BIG & SO PRETTY with all the lavender accents! I LOVE the color lavender myself & use it a lot more than pink for the same reasons! I think it lends itself to a romantic look without it being ultra feminine (not great for the sons & hubbys in the family!)Keep up the great posts my friend!!xo tutti

Tara, your room is lovely. So true about Lavender, Just today at the shop I work at, we used lavender soaps and ribbons and bundles of dried lavender in a room we wanted to keep all white, and it didn't take away from our idea of all shades of white.
Great post.
thanks,
Becky
